IMPLEMENTING E-LEARNING AS A PART OF GLOBALIZATION OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT: SYNERGETIC APPROACH

The processes of globalization in the contemporary world require new approaches of their realization into all aspects of social communications, including higher educational environment. Implementing e-learning into higher educational environment is a way of increasing the quality of education in the conditions of globalization in a contemporary educational services’ market. It is possible to realize it with the help of a synergistic approach.

Globalization of education is usually considered as international collaboration, exchange of ideas and transferring education policies among education systems [2]. It is aimed for reaching world common standards of the effectiveness of specialists’ training. E-learning is a part of globalization of higher educational environment which provides teaching and learning processes with the help of contemporary electronic media such as the Internet, Intranets, satellite broadcasts, audio/video tape, interactive TV, etc. Nowadays there are many software platforms known as Learning Management Systems (LMS) for implementing e-learning in a higher educational environment. For example, in Ukraine among the most popular platforms there are such as Moodle (e.g. it’s particularly implemented at the National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute», National University of «Kyiv-Mohyla Academy», etc.), WebCT (Kyiv National Economic University), IBM Lotus LearningSpace 5.0 (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv), etc. Implementing these Learning Management Systems gives opportunities for improving the quality of full-time, part-time education, and self-education in a created integrated learning environment with various components of e-learning.

E-learning in higher educational environment as an open, complicated and nonlinear system can be considered with the help of the theory of self-organization.  The system of e-learning should be stable to the external environment’s influences and responsive to the internal environment’s influences of a university that promotes its transition to an unstable state due to the bifurcation point during transmitting knowledge via the system «Teacher − E-learning tools − Student». In this case it’s necessary to take into consideration that any instability should be considered as a state of transition from a stable state of the system into a new one which promotes occurring new structures. The nonlinearity as a source of self-organization provides presenting a positive feedback among teachers and students by means of tools of e-learning including all recourses and activities, first of all, electronic textbooks which are also open systems which can be completed, corrected, modified due to a definite curriculum [1]. In Learning Management System of e-learning students can study necessary materials not only through a traditional «linear» presentation of a text, but also a «non-linear» one by choosing optimal paths for their learning including all other possibilities such as using tests, chats, forums, etc. A «non-linear» presentation of the text provides a multilayered, multilevel distribution of educational materials, which allows concentrating students’ attention on the most essential information and providing an access to its deeper level.

There are a lot of advantages of implementing e-leaning in a higher educational environment such as flexibility (it’s possible to optimize a schedule and time for mastering subjects), mobility (LMS can be installed on laptops, tablets and phones), reducing costs as to getting to a place of studying, etc.

Implementing LSM of e-learning into a higher educational environment promotes a transition to a university’s new quality level as a competitive university by means of reducing costs and tuition fees providing a university’s entropy for a monopolistic status at an educational market. If a negative entropy which can be considered as an activity of other competitors as for updating its advantages at an educational services’ market increases compare to a university’s entropy it gets an unstable condition which is characterized by fluctuations as various deviations aimed at renewing a university’s competitiveness with the help of transforming its organizational structure or implementing other innovative strategies. It’s possible to realize taking into account a university’s existing opportunities correlations resulting in a possible change of a university’s symmetry by means of passing through the bifurcation point as a critical moment of a system’s development.

Thus, the perspective of implementing e-learning into higher educational environment promotes improving the quality of education in the context of its globalization. Such transformations in Ukraine will contribute to its possibility to satisfy the world’s demands as to quality specialists’ training in the higher educational services’ market while integrating the national education system into the global information and education environment.
